Policy:

Surveys of campus constituents are widely recognized as an important means for collecting information to maintain, improve, and assure educational quality; to enhance institutional effectiveness; and/or to improve student success.  All surveys at Pearl River Community College must be conducted in an ethical and responsible manner.  All surveys will be reviewed, coordinated, and distributed by the Office of Institutional Research to ensure that surveys are designed and conducted through best practices in research methodology.

Procedure:

Persons interested in conducting a survey at Pearl River Community College should contact the Office of Institutional Research to submit a survey request (https://prcc.edu/about/office-of-planning-and-institutional-research/survey-request-form/).  The Office of Institutional Research will assist with:

  • Coordination of the timing of surveys
  • Promotion of best practices in survey design
  • Protection of the rights of survey participants

This applies, but is not limited to:

  • Any survey administered to the student body
  • Departmental or instructor surveys utilized for assessment
  • Surveys intended for obtaining input from faculty/staff

Surveys utilized for research purposes will be referred to the PRCC Institutional Review Board (https://prcc.edu/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/petition-institutional-reviewboard.pdf).

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
