The Office of Marketing & Recruitment is seeking a creative, energetic, and highly motivated Marketing & Communications Specialist who will serve as the institution’s Coordinator of Visual Design. This position will be responsible for capturing, creating, editing, and distributing engaging visual content that tells the story of Pearl River Community College through photography, videography, social media, and digital marketing.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for storytelling and content creation, with the ability to produce compelling photos, videos, reels, TikToks, and graphics that showcase student life, academics, athletics, events, alumni success, and the Pearl River story. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary content creator for PRCC’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels.

Overview/Job Description: 

  • Serve as a resource for both academic and career and technical middle college students.  Middle college refers to dual enrollment students who are seeking to complete an associate of arts degree while enrolled in high school. 
  • Advise and provide middle college students with degree plans that meet their short-term and long-term educational and career goals and assist them in developing their class schedules.
  • Coordinate the development, expansion, and administration of Pearl River Community College’s high school middle college program in accordance with the guidelines and standards established by the College, the State of Mississippi, and the South Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
  • Bring a high level of awareness to high school administrators/counselors of Pearl River, Lamar, Forrest, Hancock, Jefferson Davis, and Marion counties of the middle college and dual enrollment educational opportunities offered by Pearl River Community College.
  • Represent the College and disseminate appropriate information about the College to prospective students and other interested parties.
  • Effectively communicate and respond promptly with area high school coordinators as their needs arise.

Job Description: This position is designed to provide modern instruction, high Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology & Barbering (MSBCB) licensure pass rates, a professional environment, and a solid reputation in our communities for quality instruction and highly qualified and desired graduates for employment.

Minimum Requirements:  Must have a minimum of three (3) years of successful work experience within the last five (5) years in a salon as a cosmetologist. Must be able to demonstrate successful experience in all areas of salon operation and cosmetology. Must possess a current cosmetology license from the State of Mississippi and be a licensed Cosmetology Instructor in the state of Mississippi. Demonstrated professional demeanor, positive contributions to a team, and desire for continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications: Five (5) or more years work experience in a salon as a cosmetologist and two (2) or more years’ experience as a licensed Cosmetology Instructor.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Continually ensure that all requirements of all partners are met to include MSBCB.

Experience may include industrial robotics, troubleshooting, calibration, PLC systems, motor controls, sensors, and process instrumentation. An Associate of Applied Science in Automation and Controls Technology, Electronic Technology, Instrumentation Technology, or a closely related field is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in entry-level courses such as electronic theory (AC/DC/ Digital), motor controls, PLCs, and instrumentation.

Job Description/Overview: This position requires individuals to have a desire to teach students to become registered nurses. Overview: 

Responsible for safely transporting passengers — including employees, students, or community members — to and from designated locations in accordance with established schedules and safety regulations. The driver must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and Air Brake endorsements and maintain compliance with all state, federal, and local transportation laws.

Status:  Part-Time / As Needed

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Safely operate buses and other assigned vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and organizational policies.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety issues immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order on the bus, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for passengers.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules or adjust routes as needed due to traffic, detours, or other conditions.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus when necessary, ensuring accessibility and safety.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage, and fuel records as required.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical problems promptly.
  • Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including random drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Represent the organization professionally and courteously at all times.

Qualifications:  

  • REQUIRED
    • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and Air Brake endorsements.
    • Clean driving record and ability to pass required background checks and drug screenings.
    • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of traffic and safety regulations.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work flexible or split shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • PREFERRED
    • Experience transporting students, seniors, or community groups.
    • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.

Job Description/Overview:  The Surgical Technology Program is seeking to hire a full-time instructor.   Responsibilities may include didactic and laboratory instruction in addition to clinical supervision, instruction and direction and guidance of clinical students.   Instructor will be responsible for clinical communication and documentation as required by ARC/STSA standards.

Status:  Part Time (Adjunct)

Educational Requirements/Work Experience: 

Faculty with instructional responsibilities in core surgical technology courses must:

1) Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.

2) Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

  • Current CST or CSFA certification is the only certification meeting the requirements

3) Have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.

Recommended level of education for the Core Instructor is a baccalaureate degree or higher. Minimum of AAS Degree is preferred, but ST Certificate will be considered with plan to complete an AAS Degree.

Qualifications:  Faculty/instructional staff must be effective in teaching and knowledgeable in subject matter as documented by appropriate professional credential(s)/certification(s), education, and experience in the designated content area.
