Job Description/Overview: A Barbering Instructor at Pearl River Community College teaches, demonstrates, and assesses student skills in haircutting, styling, shaving, and chemical services to prepare them for state licensure. Requirements include a valid Mississippi Barbering Instructor license, significant industry experience, and adherence to Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver lesson plans covering, but not limited to, anatomy, bacteriology, sanitation, sterilization, hair cutting, and shaving. Manage the laboratory/classroom environment to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with Board standards. Evaluate student performance in practical, hands-on training and theoretical tests, ensuring readiness for licensure exams.
