Job Description: The Automotive Technology instructor will prepare individuals to engage in the servicing and maintenance of all types of automobiles to include diagnosis of malfunctions and repair of engines, fuel, electrical, cooling, brake, drive train, and suspension systems. Position Summary: The Workforce Project Manager (WPM) will research prevailing workforce needs utilizing labor market data and industry outreach, then collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to design, deliver, and manage strategic workforce training. The WPM will identify subject matter experts; hire and supervise trainers for short-term courses; set training expectations; coordinate training logistics; evaluate trainer and course efficacy; manage project budgets, procurement, and programmatic reporting. To support workforce training efforts, the WPM will develop and maintain positive and transparent relationships with internal (students, trainers, other PRCC departments) and external (government, industry, workforce system partners, etc.) stakeholders is critical to successful job performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred with major course work in public administration, business administration, workforce development, economic development, or a technical field. Associate degree plus extraordinary related experience may be considered.
  • Three or more years of experience in project management (inclusive of any project management activities and not limited to formalize delivery in full-time project management role).
  • Five or more years of work experience in business, or industries related to PRCC Workforce Training (healthcare, manufacturing, logistics) or education.
  •  Preferred work experience includes areas such as budget management, human resources, strategic planning, customer relations, operations management, program planning and development.
  • Collaborative work style and ability to work cooperatively with other divisions within the College.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Position Summary: This position oversees and facilitates work-based learning opportunities for non-credit workforce programs and career-technical credit programs to support the objectives of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), the Mississippi Apprenticeship Program (MAP) and the continued development of work-based learning initiatives and post-training employment connections. Duties will include collaborating with program instructors to recruit interns, performing employer outreach, recruiting employer training sites, creating and aligning processes with departmental and funding goals, promotion and support of the Mississippi Apprenticeship Program (MAP), serving as a liaison with WIN Job Centers, collecting and reporting relevant data, tracking and reporting program outcomes, and developing work-based learning opportunities.

Overview/Educational Requirements: Pearl River Community College is seeking a highly skilled individual for the position of instructor of the Aviation Maintenance Technology program. The individual must have a minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in aviation maintenance to include: maintenance, inspection, alterations and repairs to powerplants, and airframe on heavy and light category aircraft. Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology or directly related field required. Must provide certificates received that substantiate F.A.A. certification as a mechanic with airframe and powerplant ratings. Preferred certifications are F.A.A. Part 61 Private Pilot License and F.A.A. Inspector Authorization.
Desired skills include (but not limited to) previous teaching and/or training experience in aviation maintenance.
