WIOA Workforce Coordinator

Department:           Workforce Education (Woodall Center)

Position Summary: This position supports the enrollment and coordination of students into federally-funded Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Individual Training Accounts (ITAs). Successful performance of this role includes close collaboration with PRCC workforce team members and other PRCC departments including CTE, Allied Health, Admissions, and the Business Office, as well as Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District (SMPDD) WIOA administration, and WIN Job Center Staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a liaison between SMPDD, Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES & WIN Job Centers), and PRCC staff.
  • Determines and addresses employment, educational, and functional needs of WIOA participants using assessment, coaching, and available resources to improve the chance of successful completion of programs and the obtention and retention of employment. Nurture student development through supportive communication and positive customer support throughout all interactions.
  • Assists students throughout the WIOA ITA application process.
  • Promotes WIOA ITA funding through WIN Centers and college programs.
  • Collaborates with other PRCC supportive resource programs (WIOA and non-WIOA) to determine and implement best practices for cross-referrals and student support.
  • Maintains effective case notes and proper service documentation in MS Works.
  • Serves as a proctor for WorkKeys and other pre-employment assessments as needed.
  • Administers required processes for the inclusion and updates of relevant PRCC courses on the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL). Solicit up-to-date program enrollment, format, and fee information from relevant PRCC personnel.
  • Creates and submits invoices from PRCC for ETPL approved-course tuition/fee. Work closely with PRCC business office and admissions to ensure accurate data collection and reporting for WIOA processes.
  • Reports program activities and outcomes in compliance with all federal, state, and grant-specific guidelines. Actively seeks opportunities for process improvement. Takes ownership in the data collection and reporting processes.
  • Facilitates connections and service provision for WIN customers seeking or participating in education and training activities at PRCC.
  • Provides and communicates soft/life skills for WIOA participants.
  • Works on college holidays as required due to WIN system needs (with 14-day advance notice from SMPDD).
  • Reviews grant financials for accuracy and completes and submits quarterly reimbursement requests.
  • Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental, organizational, and WIOA system activities and goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in project management, grant administration, student services, program development, employer relations or technical field related to PRCC Career Tech/Allied Health degrees.
  • Collaborative work style and ability to work cooperatively with other divisions within the College.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Some physical activity may be required for the provision of regular duties. Must be able to regularly lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Overview/Job Description: 

Under the direction of the Director of Dual Enrollment, Dual Enrollment Support Specialists will provide information and registration assistance to current and prospective dual enrollment students. They will assist in other events sponsored by the Dual Enrollment Office.

  1. Assist high school students and counselors in registering for dual enrollment courses.
  2. Organize and maintain student admissions files
  3. Assemble, disseminate, and publicize information regarding PRCC Dual Enrollment programs via email and social media.
  4. Communicate with students, parents, and high school and college staff regarding college applications, admissions requirements, and course offerings.
  5. Able to travel freely to all in-district high schools (valid driver’s license required).
  6. Effectively communicate and respond promptly with area high school coordinators as their needs arise.
  7. Represent the College and disseminate appropriate information to prospective students and other interested parties.
  8. Assist the Director of Dual Enrollment in activities supporting all dual enrollment programs.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description/Overview: This position requires individuals to have a desire to teach students to become registered nurses. Position Summary: The Commercial Truck Driving Instructor will be responsible for teaching entry-level students the skills and knowledge required to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This includes both classroom instruction and hands-on driving training. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial truck driving and a strong commitment to safety and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classroom instruction on topics such as traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle operation.
  • Provide hands-on driving training, including pre-trip inspections, theory, range, and road driving.
  • Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve skills.
  • Ensure all training is conducted in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Keeps and submits appropriate course records in accordance with program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, performance, and progress.

Job Description/Overview:  The Surgical Technology Program is seeking to hire a full-time instructor.   Responsibilities may include didactic and laboratory instruction in addition to clinical supervision, instruction and direction and guidance of clinical students.   Instructor will be responsible for clinical communication and documentation as required by ARC/STSA standards.

Educational Requirements/Work Experience: 

Faculty with instructional responsibilities in core surgical technology courses must:

1) Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.

2) Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

  • Current CST or CSFA certification is the only certification meeting the requirements

3) Have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.

Recommended level of education for the Core Instructor is a baccalaureate degree or higher. Minimum of AAS Degree is preferred, but ST Certificate will be considered with plan to complete an AAS Degree.

Qualifications:  Faculty/instructional staff must be effective in teaching and knowledgeable in subject matter as documented by appropriate professional credential(s)/certification(s), education, and experience in the designated content area.
