Program Information
The study of history examines the people, ideas, events, and influences that shaped the society we live in. By piecing together such fields as literature, social issues, music, art, warfare and the like, and by analyzing primary and secondary materials, students gain a multi-faceted picture of their place in our modern world. Historical analysis also grants important qualities such as critical thinking, organization, presentation skills, and comparative discourse.
After completing history courses, students will be able to discuss the important events and people from the time period covered, explain changes in society over time, and successfully analyze primary and secondary source materials.
