WILDCAT CHESS CAMP

TEENS

Participants will learn strategies, tactics, and rules of play.  Categories are available for experienced and inexperienced players.

For students who have completed: Grades 6-8
When: June 10-11, 2024

TEENS 2

Participants will learn strategies, tactics, and rules of play. Categories are available for experienced and inexperienced players.

WILDCAT FILM CAMP

Participants will step behind the scenes to learn video camera components and operational procedures while creating a film short.

For students who have completed: Grades 6-8
When: June 17-20, 2024
Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

WILDCAT DRONE CAMP

Poplarville

Participants will utilize skills in mathematics, coding, and data collection while learning to pilot a drone. No previous experience is needed for this hands-on, interactive camp.

For students who have completed: Grades 6-8
When: June 24-27, 2024
Time: 9:00 – 10:00 am

Hancock

Participants will utilize skills in mathematics, coding, and data collection while learning to pilot a drone. No previous experience is needed for this hands-on, interactive camp.

Jr. Carpentry

Young carpenters will learn to use basic hand tools while creating personal wood wonders.

3D Printing

This beginner-level camp will introduce participants to three-dimensional design while offering opportunities to experiment with additive technology.

Robotics

Robotics allows participants to take the plunge with beginning computer programming. Campers will test their skills while completing various missions.

For Boys and Girls who have completed: Grades 3rd – 4th

Short Circuit

Campers will explore STEM and will create circuits to complete exciting electrical features.

Spin Art

Spin Art will provide young artists with the opportunity to get the creative juices flowing.  Not only will one-of-a-kind pieces be created on the spinners, but students will also spin the pedals on the blender bike to create a tasty, healthy treat.

Japanese Tie Dye at the Library

Campers will immerse themselves in the art of Japanese tie dye.

For Boys and Girls who have completed: Grades 3rd – 5th

Infinity: Rocketry & Robotics (1st - 3rd)

Kids College has partnered with Infinity Science Center to provide fun and fascinating learning experiences with rocketry and robotics.  Students will launch their creations after learning the science behind the force required for lift, and they will practice programming robots of varying styles.

Go WILD

Go Wild will teach campers about animals native to Mississippi and conservation efforts to protect them.  Animal classifications and habitats will be discussed.  There will be opportunities for live animal encounters.

  • Dot and Dash 1 is a prerequisite of Dot and Dash 2
  • Students will apply skills to complete missions with more complexity.

FCC DAY CAMP

This camp will be held at the Forrest County Campus, 5448 Highway 49 South, Hattiesburg, MS  39401.

FCC Day Camp will provide campers with opportunities to learn about nutrition, STEM activities, arts & crafts, and more. The engaging camp will offer skill-building activities and active learning.

For Boys and Girls who have completed: Grades 2-5
When: June 10-13, 2024
Drop-off time: 7:30 am – 8:00 am
Pick-up time: 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
