Program Information
The Cosmetology program provides a curriculum that includes theory and practical skills, salon ethics, and management skills required to become a licensed cosmetologist. Professionals may choose one of several careers including Licensed Cosmetologist, Nail Technician, Esthetician, or Salon Manager/Owner.

How to apply to the Cosmetology Program
1. Complete PRCC Application
Within 3-5 days after you apply, you will receive RiverGuide Credentials.
Be sure to send your final High School Transcript no later than June 30.
Any previous college transcripts or beauty school history must be provided to PRCC Admissions.
Once you receive your PRCC login credentials, proceed to step 2.
2. Complete Program Application
Entry Requirements:
ACT Scores: Reading 16 or higher and Math 14 or higher
*If you do not meet the required ACT scores, you may take the TABE test.
TABE Scores: Reading 10 or higher and Math 9 or higher

3. Required Documentation
You will be notified no later than the first week of June if you are selected for an interview.
If you are selected for the program, you will be required to provide the following:
- 10-panel drug test
- Form 121 (immunizations & tuberculosis test)
*These two tests require payments, so it is advised to only do so if you are selected for an interview.
If you are selected for the program, it is highly encouraged to complete a Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FASFA) as early as possible to determine your financial aid eligibility.
