PRCC to host TV-film workshop for high school students

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College Television and Film Productions will hold a Television and Film Workshop for high school students (grades 9-12) from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4. This event will take place in the Television and Film Soundstage (Building 49) at the Poplarville campus.The purpose of the workshop is to train students to work as interns on the college Healthy People Now! productions. Healthy People Now! is a consortium of the PRCC Department of Nursing Education and the Office of Public Relations, Television and Film Productions.This program produces dramatic illustrations of psychosocial issues stemming from Hurricane Katrina-related traumatic events in the lives of K_12 students. Healthy People Now! was funded by the Lower Pearl River Valley Foundation in 2008 for three years and was recently re-funded for an additional 3 years. Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
