PRCC ready for big pre-game activities on Thursday

POPLARVILLE – The Pearl River Community College Alumni Association will host a Wildcat Family Picnic along with the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick contest at 5:30 p.m. Thursday outside Dobie Holden Stadium on the Poplarville campus.The events will take place before the PRCC Wildcats take on the number-one-ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs at 7 p.m.The Punt, Pass and Kick contest is sponsored by The New Orleans Saints and the National Football League. Kids compete in age groups – 6-7 years old, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15 – for first, second and third place. The first place winners will advance to sectional competition in early October with the chance to move up to the Team Championship. The finals will be held in January at a New Orleans Saints game.There is no entry fee but pre-registration is requested.The Wildcat Family Picnic is sponsored by attorneys Joshua A. Mars, Matthew D. Miller and Nicholas K. Thompson of Copeland Cook Taylor and Bush. Food for the picnic is courtesy of Tony and Angie Smith of Stonewall''s BBQ.The picnic will include fun jumps and arts and crafts for the children, a mini-pep rally with the Wildcat mascot and cheerleaders and entertainment by Cull Factor featuring PRCC electronics instructor Vic Cerniglia on lead guitar.Cost for the picnic is $5 per person; children 3 years old and under are free.To pre-register for Punt, Pass and Kick or to RSVP for the picnic, contact Candace Harper at 601 403-1193 or charper@prcc.edu. Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
