PRCC Disney Spectacular show especially for kids

POPLARVILLE – Several well-known characters will be on hand when the Pearl River Community College choral department presents Disney Spectacular in a special performance at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30.The revue of music from Disney movies will feature students from all three PRCC choral groups – PRCC Singers, The Voices and RiverRoad showchoir.The Saturday show will be The Mad Hatter Un-Birthday Party!Weve tried to gear that to kids, said LaDona Tyson, director of choral groups.Reserved tickets are $10 per person and include cake, ice cream and a drink. Tickets must be reserved by Wednesday, April 20.They will get to decorate their own piece of un-birthday cake, Tyson said. Afterwards, the Disney characters will be out in the Great Hall for meet-and-greet.Among the Disney characters will be Mickey Mouse, played by Dakota Youngblood of Lumberton; Princess Jasmine from Alladin, played by Mariah LeBlanc of Purvis; Belle from Beauty and the Beast, played by Marla Ham of Columbia; Tiana from the Princess and the Frog, portrayed by Chasity Hawthorne of Petal; and The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, played by Austin Williams of Carriere.Other characters on hand will include Snow White and Cinderella.The show features music from Mary Poppins, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Pinnochio and classic Disney songs like The Mickey Mouse Club song and It a Small World. The performance also will include songs from the princess movies, including Beauty and The Beast, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. Other selections include Youve Got A Friend In Me from Toy Story, Dig A Little Deeper from The Princess and The Frog and songs from The Lion King.The musical also will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29. General admission is $5 and $3 for PRCC students with valid IDs. All performances will be in Olivia Bender Cafeteria in Crosby Hall on the Poplarville campus.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
