Mississippi Symphony tickets on sale

POPLARVILLE – Tickets are on sale for the return of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra to the Ethel Holden Brownstone Center for the Arts in Poplarville.
The symphony will perform for the third time at Pearl River Community College at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12.
“We are excited about the return of the Mississippi Symphony to PRCC,” said Dr. Kyle Hill, Brownstone Center director. “This performance would not be possible without the support of the Mississippi Arts Commission.”
The commission awarded Pearl River $4,100 for the concert.
“Organizations that support the arts play a pivotal role in growing Mississippi’s creative economy,” said Malcolm White, executive director of the commission. “The Mississippi Arts Commission is pleased to support their work, which reinforces the value of the arts for communities and for the economic development of our state.”
For 2016-17, the MAC awarded a total of $1.5 million in grants made possible by the Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. Founded in 1968, the commission is funded by the Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Mississippi Endowment for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson and other private sources.
Tickets for the symphony concert are $20 for first-floor seats and $15 for balcony seats. They can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com or by calling 601 403-1180.
