Lady Wildcats'' ''Pink Game'' on tap Saturday versus Northwest Florida

POPLARVILLE The reigning MACJC state champion Pearl River Community College softball team will host Northwest Florida here Saturday in its annual Pink Game in Lady Wildcat Stadium. The 2 p.m. doubleheader is actually a make up game against the Lady Raiders from Niceville, Fla., as NWFCC was to participate in Feb. 4-5''s season-opening Strike Out Cancer Weekend tournament, which was postponed due to torrential weather conditions. They (Northwest Florida) still wanted to play us, so scheduled a game for Saturday, ninth-year Lady Wildcat head coach Leigh White said. I wish we couldve rescheduled the whole (five-team) tournament, but it was really impossible with everybody season underway. Part of the proceeds from Saturday twin bill will got to the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation. Between games, there will be the dedication of the Lady Wildcats 2010 MACJC state championship banner, as well as recognizing breast cancer survivors in attendance. Deanna Favre, who is a former student-athlete at PRCC, is the wife of legendary National Football League quarterback Brett Favre.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.
