Janessa Dedeaux named to 2012 All-MACJC squad

POPLARVILLE Pearl River Community College Lady Wildcat catcher Janessa Dedeaux has been named to the 2012 All-MACJC squad. Dedeaux, a 2010 graduate of Poplarville High School, was the only member of head coach Leigh White squad to draw post-season honors. Janessa was our iron man this past season, said White. She was behind the plate for virtually every game we played. That says it all right there. For her to play that many games and perform at the high level she did says volumes. As a freshman in 2011, Dedeaux also played first base in addition to catching duties. This past year, she batted .313 (third-highest on the squad) in 115 plate appearances and drove in 12 runs also third-best on the team and boasted a .359 on-base percentage while grading .976 in fielding percentage. In 2011, she batted .289 (76 at bats) and drove in nine runs while sporting .325 on-base and .948 fielding percentages. Dedeaux will suit up for the William Carey University Lady Crusadeers in 2013. The Lady Wildcat squad earned MACJC State Tournament and Region 23 Tournament berths in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. This past year squad finished 21-24, while 2011''s wrapped at 21-23.
