Brownstone Center season tickets on sale

  POPLARVILLE – Tickets are on sale for the 2016-17 season at the Ethel Holden Brownstone Center for the Arts at Pearl River Community College.
  The season gets off to an exciting start on Aug. 26 with a performance by Kevin Costner and Modern West, his country/rock band. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
  “We are excited about the upcoming season of events and feel that it is our best line-up yet,” said LaDona Tyson, assistant Brownstone Center director. “We are becoming a part of a tradition of arts excellence that we hope to continue building at Pearl River Community College.”
  Season tickets provide admission to all 16 Brownstone events, including nine Premier performances and the PRCC Honors Series and Fine Arts Series. Season tickets are $150, a savings of $100 over individual ticket prices.
  A special “Pick 3″ package is three premier events for $100.
  Premier events are:
•Kevin Costner and Modern West, 7 p.m. Aug. 26.
•Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, 7 p.m. Sept. 12.
•Christian singer and songwriter David Phelps, 7 p.m. Oct. 17.
•Country star Marty Stuart and The Fabulous Superlatives, 7 p.m. Nov. 19.
•Christmas Vespers by PRCC Singers choral ensembles, 7 p.m. Nov. 29.
•The Nutcracker by South Mississippi Ballet, 7 p.m. Dec. 10 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 11.
•The Willis Clan family of musicians from TLC, 7 p.m. Jan. 30.
•The Heart Behind the Music featuring Richie McDonald of Lonestar and three other musicians talking about and playing their music, 7 p.m. March 23.
•The Mouse Trap by Agatha Christie, PRCC’s spring drama production, April 6-8.
Honors Series events include:
•Juan Williams and Cal Thomas of Crossroads discussing American politics, 7 p.m. Oct. 25.
•Black History Concert premiering a work by Luigi Zanelli, 7 p.m. Feb. 13
•Of Wardrobes and Rings, a 1963 conversation between C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkein played by Phil Crowley and David Payne, respectively, 7 p.m. March 2.
The PRCC Fine Arts Series includes:
•PRCC Singers concerts, 7 p.m. Nov. 3 and 7 p.m. April 11
•PRCC bands concert, 7 p.m. April 18
•JazzCats and Voices concert, 7 p.m. April 27.
  Season tickets or the “pick three” can be purchased by calling the Brownstone ticket office at 601 403-1180. The office will be closed on Fridays throughout July.
  Tickets to individual premier events go on sale about a month before the performances and can be purchased by calling the ticket office or at www.brownpapertickets.com. “On sale” dates can be found at www.brownstonecenter.com
 

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
