HATTIESBURG – Students and employees at Pearl River Community College Forrest County Center donated 2,300 items of non-perishable food to the Salvation Army Wednesday, Oct. 12, as part of annual Fall Fest activities.I want to thank all of you for the hard work you did, said Hank Williams on behalf of the Salvation Army. Someone out there is going hungry every day.The occupational therapy assistant technology program was recognized for collecting the most food.We loaded boxes for 30 minutes in the OTA department this morning, said Dr. Joe Wesley, PRCC counselor who coordinated the drive. We have had a banner year this year.Fall Fest also included a Halloween costume contest, performances by the Spirit of the River drum line and PRCC cheerleaders and introduction of the 2011 Homecoming Court.Phi Theta Kappa honor society also sponsored a table for students to sign a pledge to complete their community college degree or certificate program.
