This course is an introduction to PLC theory and concepts followed by hands-on training to enable the student to operate PLC systems. Essential tasks covered in this course include basic PLC troubleshooting, uploading/downloading PLC programs, and monitoring PLC programs during operation.

Basic PLC

Objectives:

  • Basic PLC definition
  • Basic ladder diagram logic
  • PLC program uploads and downloads
  • PLC program monitoring
  • PLC wiring and connection
  • Basic PLC system troubleshooting

Format:

Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises.  The course consists of lectures, demonstrations and a series of exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. 

Participants:

This course is intended for the person who must operate PLC systems.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
