Welding class to be held in Columbia

  A welding course is being offered by Pearl River Community College at the Carl Loftin Career and Technology Center in Columbia.
  The course will meet from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, beginning Aug. 2 and ending Dec. 7. Cost is $250.
  Students will earn an industry recognized certificate in welding, including applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and NCCER credentials in introductory craft skills core curriculum and Level I and II welding.
  Applicants must be 18 years old and must turn in an application, clean drug screen results at their expense and receipt for payment in full from the PRCC business office in Poplarville before Aug. 2.
  Students will have to provide welding shield, gloves and cap, steel-toed shoes, long sleeve shirt, ear plugs and safety glasses.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
