Two concerts wrap up spring semester

POPLARVILLE – Two concerts will close out the spring semester at Pearl River Community College.

The PRCC Singers will perform Thursday, April 23, and three groups – RiverRoad, JazzCats and The Voices – will take the stage on Tuesday, April 28. Both concerts are at 7 p.m. in Smith Auditorium of the Ethel Holden Brownstone Center for the Arts.

Under the direction of LaDona Tyson, the PRCC Singers will present a program of traditional and contemporary music for choirs on April 23.

RiverRoad, the PRCC showchoir, will present its 2014-15 show and the JazzCats and The Voices ensemble will perform together and separately on April 28.

The concert will be the last for JazzCats director Archie Rawls who is retiring in June after 36 years at PRCC, most of them as chair of the Department of Fine Arts and Communication. He has been director of the Brownstone Center since its inception.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
