Summer welding, pipefitting courses offered

  POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College will offer pipefitting and welding courses this summer in Poplarville through its workforce programs.
  The pipefitting course will meet from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, May 18-July 15. It offers the industry-recognized certificate in pipefitting, including applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and NCCER certification in introductory craft skills core curriculum, Level 1 and Level 2 pipefitting.
  Cost is $300. Enrollment requires the CRC Certificate rated silver or better, clean drug screen at the student’s expense, completed application and receipt for payment in full from the business office. Students must be 18 when the course starts.
  Students must provide their own steel-toed shoes, clear safety glasses, welding cap and gloves, long-sleeve snap shirt and tape measure.
  The welding course will meet from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, May 18-July 28. It offers the industry-recognized certificate in welding, including applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and NCCER certification in introductory craft skills core curriculum, Level 1 welding.
  Cost is $300. Enrollment requires a clean drug screen at the student’s expense, completed application and receipt for payment in full from the business office. Students must be 18 when the course starts and provide their own welding shield, gloves and cap, steel-toed shoes, long-sleeve shirt, ear plugs and safety glasses.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
