Southern Miss quintet to perform at PRCC

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College will present a guest recital by Category 5 on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Malone Chapel on the Poplarville campus.Category 5 is a wind quintet composed of University of Southern Mississippi music faculty members – Anna Pennington on oboe, Danilo Mezzadri, flute; Heidi Lucas, French horn; Jonathan Holden, clarinet; and Kim Woolly, bassoon.This dynamic group strives to present a diverse and exciting program, often performing new music and commissioned pieces alongside works from the standard wind quintet repertoire. Category 5 maintains an active performance schedule in the U.S. and abroad along with local presentations and educational outreach activities. Recent performances include tours in Brazil and the southern U.S.The recital at 10:50 a.m. is free and the public is invited.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
