Singers to perform at state conference

POPLARVILLE – The PRCC Singers of Pearl River Community College have been selected to perform at a statewide conference of music educators next spring.
The concert choir will perform April 1 at the Mississippi Music Educators Association/Amercian Choral Directors Association in-service conference in Hattiesburg.
“It is a high honor that reflects the hard work of our students and the immense support of the PRCC administration,” said LaDona Tyson, PRCC director of choral groups.
The PRCC Singers were selected through a blind audition of recordings and programs from the past two years, she said. Only three other choirs – Hernando Middle School, Horn Lake High School and the Mississippi State University Men’s Chorus – will perform.
Tyson has directed PRCC’s choral groups since 2007.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
