Pearl River Community College will offer a night welding class at the Hancock Center in Waveland during the spring 2018 semester.
The class will meet from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, starting Jan. 8 and ending April 30.
Cost is $250 with $50 due with the application and the remaining $200 by the first day of class.
The course offers an industry recognized certificate in welding, including applications for NCCER certification in core curriculum and Level I welding. Level I includes safety, oxyfuel cutting, SMAW equipment and setup, SMAW electrode, SMAW beads and fillet welds and SMAW groove welds with backing.
Students must provide their own #10 welding shield, welding gloves and hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs and long sleeve shirt.
