'Rumors' brings comedy to PRCC stage

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College’s Department of Fine Arts and Communication will present Neil Simon’s “Rumors” April 9-11.
The farce revolves around the deputy mayor of New York who has shot himself. Guests are arriving for a 10th wedding anniversary party and his wife can’t be found. His lawyer and his wife must get the story “straight” before the other guests arrive.
“As the confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity,” said Christopher Flynn, PRCC drama instructor and director.
The cast includes Bethany Berryman and Ishtar Rosario, both of Carriere; Jacob Burkett and Annessya Culpepper, both of Columbia; Jamie Davis of Wiggins, Austin Holder of Petal, Reneé Michaels of Gulfport, Stephen Miller of Sumrall,  Arnold Spiers of Picayune and Katie Bailey of Eupora. Stage manager is Stephanie Malcolm of Bay St. Louis.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. April 9 and 10 and at 2 p.m. April 11 in Smith Auditorium of the Brownstone Center for the Arts.
Reserved seating is $10. PRCC employees and active-duty military receive a $5 discount with valid ID.
