River''s Rester tops Lady Wildcats'' post-season honorees for 2011

POPLARVILLE Three Pearl River Community College softball standouts have earned post-season accolades.Center fielder Brandy Rester of Poplarville High copped All-Region 23 honors, while shortstop Jordan Adams of DIberville High and pitcher Heather Hester of Hancock County High were named to the All-MACJC South Division squad. Adams and Rester are sophomores, while Hester is a freshman.Head coach Leigh White, who just finished her ninth season at the Lady Wildcat helm, lauded the trio.Brandy, Heather, and Jordan were three of our most consistent players this past year, she said. Brandy and Jordan also played integral roles in our winning the state championship in 2010. I couldnt be happier for them. Were just glad that Hester will be back with us next spring.PRCC, which wrapped its 2011 season with a 21-23, earned berths in this season MACJC State and Region 23 tournaments.Rester, who earned All-MACJC South Division accolades a year ago as a freshman, batted a team-high .419 this past season in addition to leading the Lady Wildcat squad with 15 stolen bases. As a freshman in 2010, she batted .366 and had a team-high 20 stolen bases.Adams, who has signed with Belhaven, batted .363 in 2011 and was tied with Hester with 26 RBIs and eight doubles both team-high totals.
