River splits at Itawamba

FULTON Pearl River Community College split with Itawamba in MACJC non-division women and men soccer action here Saturday with the Lady Wildcats taking a 4-1 victory and the Wildcats falling 3-2. PRCC women are now 7-1 overall, while its men are 5-3. ICC women dropped to 4-5, while its men are now 5-4. In women action, Pearl River led 3-0 at the intermission off scores by Emmaleigh Davis, a University of Memphis transfer who prepped at Resurrection Catholic High in Pascagoula. One of Davis goals were unassisted, while Carleigh Holley of Tupelo High and Jordan Organ of Forrest County AHS had first-half assists. Stephanie Fratesi out of Washington High in Leland scored in the second half off an assist from Ashlee Arnau of Oak Grove High. Ashley Malone scored for ICC. In men action, the Wildcats led 2-1 at the half, but the host Indians took the second 2-0 to take the win. Both PRCC goals came from Garrett Head of Oak Grove High off assists from Jacob Foulon of Pearl River Central and Pacer Frierson of Picayume Memorial High. Roy Miles scored goals in the first and second halves for ICC, while Ashley Page added a solo goal in the second. Pearl River swept Itawamba 3-1 (women) and 2-0 (men) in previous meetings played Aug. 27 in Poplarville. Pearl River returns to action Wednesday when MACJC South Division foe Southwest Miss. visits Wildcat Stadium for games at 5 p.m. (women) and 7 p.m. (men), then division rival Jones County plays host Friday in Ellisville at 5:30 p.m. (women) and 7:30 p.m. (men).
