River splits at Holmes

RIDGELAND Pearl River Community College splits in MACJC women and men non-division soccer action here Friday with the Lady Wildcats blowing out host Holmes 6-0, while the Wildcat squad suffered a hard-fought 2-1 defeat. PRCC women improved to 10-1 overall, while its men team dropped to 6-4-1. HCC women fell to 5-3, while its men improved to 6-2-1. In the women game, The River led 3-0 at the intermission before duplicating its effort in the second half. Emmaleigh Davis, a sophomore transfer from the University of Memphis who prepped at Resurrection High in Pascagoula, scored two goals for the Lady Wildcats, while Millie Barr of Oak Grove High, Stephanie Fratesi out of Washington High in Leland, Jessica Guillott of Pearl River Central High, and Ana Lee of Picayune Memorial High all has solo goals. Ashlee Arnau of Oak Grove High and Jordan Organ of Forrest County AHS had two assists each for PRCC, while Maguy Paschal of Bay High had one. In the men game, Holmes jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half and Pearl River held the host Bulldogs scoreless in the second. Garrett Head of Oak Grove High scored the Wildcats only goal in the second half off an assist by James Zanelli out of Ockendon Academy in Essex, U.K. PRCC returns to action when MACJC South Division foe Copiah-Lincoln plays host Wednesday, Oct. 5, in Wesson (women 5 p.m., men 7 p.m.), the division arch-rival Mississippi Gulf Coast visits Wildcat Stadium Saturday (women 1 p.m., men 3 p.m.).

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
