Introducing ReachOut: 24/7 Mental Health Support for the PRCC Community
Pearl River Community College is committed to fostering a campus environment that supports the well-being of our entire college community. As part of that commitment, we are pleased to introduce ReachOut, a new 24/7 mental health support service available to all PRCC students, faculty, and staff.
Life can be both rewarding and challenging. Whether you’re navigating academic demands, workplace stress, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, financial pressures, or other personal difficulties, ReachOut provides immediate access to trained crisis counselors who are available anytime—day or night—to offer confidential support and guidance.
Members of the PRCC community can connect with a trained mental health counselor in the way that is most comfortable for them:
- Phone: 601-633-9511
- Text Messaging
- Secure Web Chat
ReachOut is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, ensuring that support is always available—even when campus offices are closed.
Trained crisis counselors can help by:
- Offering emotional support for stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
- Helping individuals process difficult life experiences such as grief, relationship challenges, family concerns, bullying, or other significant life events.
- Providing coping strategies and practical guidance to help manage overwhelming emotions and navigate challenging situations.
- Conducting suicide risk assessments and developing safety plans for individuals experiencing thoughts of suicide while connecting them with the appropriate level of care and additional local or national resources when needed.
ReachOut is designed to provide immediate, compassionate, and confidential support in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Whether someone is experiencing a mental health crisis or simply needs someone to talk to, help is only a phone call, text message, or web chat away.
Please remember that ReachOut is not a replacement for emergency services. If an individual is in immediate danger or there is an imminent threat to themselves or others, contact Campus Police immediately and follow the College’s established emergency procedures.
By providing around-the-clock access to trained crisis counselors, Pearl River Community College is expanding access to mental health resources and reinforcing our commitment to a healthy, supportive, and caring campus community. ReachOut reflects our belief that seeking support is a sign of strength and that no member of the PRCC community should have to face life’s challenges alone.
