Former Director of Financial Aid Tyia Brooks was honored as an Honorary Lifetime Member of MASFAA for her outstanding contributions and dedication to the field of student financial aid. Current Director Jaime Missimer was honored to present Brooks with this award, highlighting her exemplary leadership and service.

Missimer was presented with a plaque of appreciation for her role as Vice President during the 2023-2024 term, recognizing her commitment to advancing the mission and goals of the association. She was elected to the position of President-Elect. This three-year term will see Missimer assume the roles of President-Elect, President, and Past-President, solidifying her commitment to shaping the future of student financial aid administration in Mississippi.

“I am honored to be elected as the next leader of MASFAA, as we proceed through this new era of change and challenges in financial aid,” said Missimer. “As an association, we are committed to providing training opportunities to our members and promoting the sharing of best practices through networking.

“With all of the changes happening so quickly at the federal level, it is incredibly important that we continue working together as colleagues to provide the best services to our students and help them navigate these complicated processes. PRCC students can be confident that our financial aid employees are well-trained and willing to assist with all aspects of the financial aid process.”

The Office of Financial Aid at PRCC remains steadfast in its mission to provide accessible, equitable, and comprehensive financial assistance to students, empowering them to achieve their academic and career goals.
