PRCC’s Marketing makes history with record breaking conference wins

Pearl River Community College’s Marketing & Communications Department receives the highest number of first place finishes while securing strong showings throughout all divisions at the 2023 College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) Conference in Oxford. The team set a new record for PRCC, bringing home 19 total awards including the Best Electronic Media – Junior Division. 

The Junior Division Pearl River entered is comprised of Mississippi’s 15 community colleges.  

Individuals who were part of the PRCC marketing efforts during 2021 include Chuck Abadie, Jacob Cochran, Dylan Dunaway, Richard Gleber, Corey Guerra, Candace Harper, McKinsy Harris, Alexx Kennedy, Lucas Lymuel, Patrick Ochs, Laura O’Neill, River Roderick and Kari Eve Valence.

“I am so proud of the accomplishments of this team,” said Harper, PRCC Vice President for Enrollment Management and Business Services. “Each year we set goals and they continuously surpass my expectations. This is the largest number of awards PRCC has received at the state level.  

“These recognitions are just one example of the combined talent we have pulled together to carry out PRCC’s message. Those at PRCC see their fantastic work throughout the halls of our college daily, on social media, in our communities, and local high schools. Their hard work and dedication make them one of the best marketing departments in the state of Mississippi and it is truly an honor to get to work alongside this talented group.”

ABOUT CPRAM 

The College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) is a consortium of public relations professionals employed at Mississippi’s public and private colleges and universities, as well as affiliated education agencies. The annual CPRAM conference includes educational sessions, roundtable discussions, and the CPRAM Awards ceremony.  

Kari Eve Valence, Director of Marketing and Recruitment for PRCC, will serve as President of the CPRAM Board for 2023 –2024. The next conference will be in Bay St. Louis in 2024.
