PRCC''s Healthy People Now! to hold two casting calls

POPLARVILLE – Auditions are scheduled for later this month for actors interested in performing in healthy-lifestyle films produced by Pearl River Community College Healthy People Now! program.The program, in its fourth year of productions, is looking for actors to play dramatic roles. Films produced for the past three years are currently being shown in K-12 schools in Hancock and Pearl River counties, but Healthy People Now! is looking for funding to take the highly effective program to the next level.Many of the healthy-lifestyle films are listed on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb.com), a major database of world-wide film, television and video productions. Actors interested in seeing the program current productions can do so on facebook at the Healthy People Now! group page (type Healthy People Now! in the search box).The first audition will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the PRCC Forrest County Center in the Multi_Purpose Room in Building 5. The center is located at 5448 Highway 49 South in Hattiesburg.The Saturday, Aug. 27, call will be held at the PRCC Hancock Center located at 454 Highway 90 in Waveland.Both auditions will run from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. or later, if necessary.Healthy People Now! is looking for actors of all ages, both male and female, but the program primarily uses school-age actors. Auditions are scheduled to last about 15 minutes each, and the audition material will be a short script the actor will receive before the audition. Actors may wish to come early to look over the script.Actors should bring a head shot photo, but if they do not have a head shot, a photo will be taken. The audition will be filmed. A parental release form is required to be on file before any actor under 21 years of age is cast.
