PRCC to host Veterans Day program in Hattiesburg

The Forrest County Center of Pearl River Community College will observe Veterans Day with a progam at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in the multi purpose room.Speakers will be Chad Daniels, director of the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby, and Dr. Benny Hornsby, PRCC instructor and retired U.S. Navy captain.The program will also include original commemorative poetry and dedication of a flag pole and flags.The poetry is the work of PRCC creative writing students Eddie Hodges, Lee Kinabrew and Mason Nelson.Dr. Janet Thornton, assistant to the dean of the Forrest County Center, will dedicate the flagpole and a flag in memory of her parents, Allen Dodd and Pauline Steed.The public is invited to attend the program, which is sponsored by the PRCC History and Humanities Club, Thornton and Deborah Hewitt, PRCC counselor.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
