PRCC to host reception for quilt artist

POPLARVILLE – The art department at Pearl River Community College will host a reception for guest artist Martha Ginn of Hattiesburg from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, March 26, in the first-floor gallery in Moody Hall.A selection of Ginn art quilts will be on display through Friday, March 30.Ginn began traditional quilting in 1984 after many years of sewing, embroidery and counted cross-stitch work. She has shifted her focus in recent years from traditional quilts to pieces to be displayed as wall hangings.Ginn helped establish the Pine Belt Quilters in Hattiesburg in 1984 and the Mississippi Quilt Association in 1991. She is active in both organizations and is also a member of the South Mississippi Art Association and Studio Art Quilt Associates.The public is invited to the reception and to view her works.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
