PRCC ROARS thank you to its donors

Pearl River Community College celebrated its ROARING Alumni Tuesday, at the annual Major Donor Dinner.

Dr. Adam Breerwood, PRCC President, spoke to the donors about the immense impact their donations make on the lives of those attending The River.

“It’s life-changing,” Breerwood said. “We are trying to build better mothers, fathers, and children in the community. You are changing generations of families.”

Ernie Lovell, Executive Director of Development Foundation/Alumni Association, thanked the donors for their continued faith in the work PRCC does and the support they offer students that may not otherwise have the opportunity to reach their educational goals.

Several students volunteered their time to be part of a thank you video shared with those attending the dinner.

“I would just like to say thank you to the donors for not only your financial contributions but everything you do to make this college everything that it is,” said PRCC scholarship recipient Ethan Speirs. “Personally, it has been a blessing for me. It allows me to focus on my academic goals and not have to worry about financial debt.”

The servers during the dinner were also PRCC Honors Institute students that gave their time to the event.

“We take our students and say ‘look at these resources that we have here to allow you to succeed,’” shared Breerwood at the dinner’s close. “We try to remove the obstacles that would impede their education and impede their opportunity for success. With your help, we are able to let them know that they can be anything they want to be if they just give Pearl River a chance.”
