PRCC names Rawls to recruiting position

POPLARVILLE – Casey Rawls has been named director of recruitment and orientation at Pearl River Community College.Rawls came to PRCC in January 2010 as Title III administrative assistant. She holds a bachelor degree in journalism from the University of Mississippi and a master degree in mass communication with a public relations emphasis from the University of Southern Mississippi.As director of recruitment and orientation, she will work closely with high schools throughout Pearl River six-county district.High school students can use the two years they spend here to grow, to figure out who they want to be, she said. They can use Pearl River as a step to fulfill whatever their goal is.She hopes to help students find their niche on campus.Casey brings to the job a unique blend of education and experience that will take Pearl River to the next level in the recruiting arena, said Dow Ford, PRCC vice president for enrollment management.Rawls became acquainted with PRCC before she married alumnus Stephen Rawls. He is the son of Archie and Frances Rawls, both of whom work at PRCC.I had seen a glimpse through the family I married into of how good PRCC is and its importance to the community, she said. Seeing how students benefit from coming to Pearl River made me want to get into this role. I want my life to make a difference, to help people. This is a good fit.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
