PRCC hosts spring Honors Lecture Series

Pearl River Community College’s Dr. William Lewis Honors Institute held its second Faculty Lecture Series for spring semester Wednesday at the Forrest County Campus in the Dr. J. Cecil Burt Special Events Room.

          Faculty and students attended the lecture, presented by Dr. Douglas Donohue, Associate Dean of the Dr. William Lewis Honors Institute, FCC; Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society advisor and Mathematics instructor.

          Dr. Donohue’s topic: The Search for Truth: The Role of Sampling and Probability in Our Quest for Knowledge.

          Dr. Donohue was introduced by sophomore Ana Salas-Mondragon of Hattiesburg, a member of the Honors Council.

          Student members of the 2022-23 Honors Council include Tobias Adams, Benjamin Hartley, Preslie Fisher, Logan Ratliff, Hunter Bass, Abbilyn Jones (President), Patrick McGruder and Kyle Sloan.

Upcoming Honors Institute events include:

          -April 10 – Phi Theta Kappa Induction, Dr. J. Cecil Burt Special Events Room.

          -April 13 – Honors Research Symposium.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
