PRCC band, drama students to perform

  POPLARVILLE – The Pearl River Community College Department of Fine Arts and Communication will present two performances next week.
  The Symphonic Band will present its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. Monday, April 8, in Bender Cafeteria in Crosby Hall.
  The theater department will stage “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 11 and 12, also in Bender Cafeteria.
  The band’s program will include “A Hymn Tune Rhapsody” by Jerry Brubaker, “Brighton Beach” by William Latham, “Danny Boy” by Samuel Hazo, “And in the End, It was Earth” by Roland Barrett, “Selections from West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein and “Shenandoah’s Simple Gifts” by Larry Clarke.
  Dr. Kyle Hill is director of bands, assisted by Michael Bass.
  The concert is free and open to the public.
  PRCC theater instructor Chris Flynn describes “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” as a hilarious romp through the intricacies and idiocies of The Bard.
  Cast members are Emily Murray of Bogalusa, La.; Sarah Silver of Ceasar and Micah Taylor of Hattiesburg.
Stage manager is Winter Whiddon of Lumberton; assistant stage manager is Freddy Mangia of Carriere. Other crew members are Jacob Martin of Lucedale and Desmond Edmondson of Hattiesburg.
  Admission to the play is $5.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
