Pipefitting class set for Hattiesburg

  Pearl River Community College will offer an evening pipefitting class during the fall semester at the Forrest County Center in Hattiesburg.
  The class will meet from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, beginning Aug. 24 and ending Dec. 15.
  Cost is $250. The course offers an industry recognized certificate in pipefitting, including application for 10-hour OSHA certification and application for NCCER credentials in introductory craft skills core curriculum, pipefitting level I and level II.
  Students must be 18 before the class starts and hold a CRC certificate rated Silver or better. Testing for the CRC is offered free of charge at the Lowery Woodall Advanced Technology Center, 906 Sullivan Dr., Hattiesburg; 601 554-4646.
  Students must also provide a clean drug screen at the students’ expense, a completed PRCC application and and a receipt from the PRCC business office in Poplarville or at the Woodall Center for payment in full. All four documents must be turned in together to Cheryl Frierson at PRCC in Poplarville.

  Those accepted for the class must provide welding shield, gloves and cap, steel-toed shoes, shirt with long sleeves, ear plugs and safety glasses.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
