Pearl River's Lee named to All-Region, All-MACJC baseball squads in 2012

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College baseball standout Braxton Lee has been named to the All-Region 23 and All-MACJC squads for the 2012 season.

Lee, a freshman center fielder who prepped at Picayune High School, was the only member of the Wildcat squad to earn post-season honors.

The son of Russell and Jill Lee of Picayune, he batted a second-best .364 (52 hits in 143 plate appearances) for The River this past season and led the squad with 30 stolen bases on 32 attempts. Lee’s .462 on-base percentage was also second on the team, while hits 21 RBIs ranked fifth. He had a .455 slugging percentage.

Touted as one of the best defensive players among the state Jucos, Lee boasted a .950 fielding percentage.

Lee, who started all 44 games the Wildcats played this past year, is suiting up in the Texas Collegiate League with the Acadiana Cane Cutters out of Lafayette, La., this summer.

Pearl River, which failed to make the post-season cut in 2012, finished 26-18 overall and 11-13 in MACJC South Division play this past season. Wildcat boss Josh Hoffpauir wrapped his second year as head coach of the PRCC squad this past season.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
