Patrick Ochs, Director of Athletics, had an office surprise before Christmas break with the announcement he had been selected as Outstanding PRCC Employee for November 2022. He was presented with certificates containing his nomination information and several goodies in honor of his hard work.
Ochs came to The River in 2018 as Sports Information Director and was promoted to Assistant Director of Marketing in 2019. He then served as Director of Marketing for the 2021- 2022 school year before transitioning into his current role. Prior to becoming a PRCC Wildcat, Ochs spent a decade as a reporter for the Oxford Eagle and Sun Herald in Biloxi.
“I am beyond honored to be recognized by the college,” said Ochs. “What makes The River special is the people. Every single Wildcat could be honored for the same recognition.
“It’s exciting to work at a place where everyone is pulling in the same direction, constantly offers to help one another and has the same goals for the institution. It’s a true blessing to work with some of the absolute best colleagues. I am incredibly humbled and grateful to have been selected as the Outstanding Employee of the Month for November!”
The Outstanding PRCC Employee recognition program was set up to allow anyone in the community to recognize a PRCC employee that goes above and beyond in their duties.
Ochs was nominated by Hanna Miller. She said, “Patrick loves PRCC and goes above and beyond to give our students the best experience possible. With his recent change to become Director of Athletics, he went in full force and has worked so hard to help our Athletics department succeed.
“He is creative in his way of thinking to give students an experience with athletics that they may not receive anywhere else. It’s great to work with Patrick!”
“I’m so excited for Patrick to be recognized through this award,” Assistant Director of Marketing and Communication, Alexx Kennedy said. “We’ve worked together for several years and he has always exhibited an strong work ethic and willingness to help others.”
