Night welding class to be taught in Poplarville

  POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College will offer basic and advanced welding courses at night during the spring 2016 semester.
  The classes will meet from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 11 through April 27, at the welding shop in the Career Education Building on the Poplarville campus.
  The courses offer an industry recognized certificate in welding, including applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, for basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and for NCCER credentials in Core Curriculum Introductory Craft Skills and Level I and II welding modules. Cost is $250.
  Applicants must be 18 before class starts and must provide welding shield, gloves and cap, steel-toed shoes, long sleeve shirt, ear plugs and safety classes.
  Applications can be obtained from Cheryl Frierson by calling 601 403-1113. The application must be submitted along with a clean drug screen at the applicant’s expense and a receipt from the PRCC business office for the $250 fee to Sheila Smith at the Career Education Building.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
