Pearl River Community College (PRCC) is committed to maintaining privacy of confidential and sensitive personal information. This privacy statement applies to prcc.edu domain and addresses data collection, use, and dissemination of personal information. Those who visit prcc.edu consent to the data practices described in this statement. Pearl River Community College reserves the right to amend this privacy statement without notice. No data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as 100% secure. While Pearl River Community College strives to protect personal information, those who visit prcc.edu acknowledge that: (a) there are security and privacy limitations inherent to the Internet which are beyond Pearl River Community College’s control; and (b) security, integrity, and privacy of any and all information and data exchanged between Pearl River Community College and prcc.edu’s users cannot be guaranteed.

Use of Cookies
The PRCC website employs “cookies” to personalize online experiences. A cookie is a file placed on a computer, tablet, or mobile device by a web server to provide a convenience feature to save users time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that a user has returned to a specific page. By default, most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but users can typically modify their browser’ setting to decline cookies. If users decline cookies, they may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the PRCC services or websites they visit.
Collection of Information
PRCC automatically collects information when users visit pages within prcc.edu. Such information is collected by Google Analytics and includes users’ IP address, browser type, domain names, duration of visit, browser type, screen resolution, interactions in the web page, and referring website addresses. This data is used to maintain quality service and to provide general analytics regarding the use of the prcc.edu domain.
Personal information is manually collected and voluntarily provided. When completing a request of information form, personal information is collected including name, address, email address, phone number, date of birth, and program of study. Pearl River Community College also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.
Tracking User Behavior
PRCC tracks page visits of its users within its website in order to determine what services are the
most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising to customers whose behavior indicates interest in a particular subject area.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
PRCC does not sell, rent, or lease customer lists to third parties. PRCC may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send email or postal mail, or conduct surveys to improve services. All such third parties are prohibited from using users’ personal information except to provide these services to PRCC, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of users’ information.
Email Communications
PRCC utilizes a third-party email marketing platform for the purpose of announcing important dates and/or events, introducing new programs, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. In order to improve its services, PRCC may receive a notification when users open an email from PRCC or click on a link therein.
Opt-Out Procedures
Those who would like to stop receiving marketing or promotional communications from Pearl River Community College may opt out of such communications through its third-party marketing providers. They may opt out here.
