Position Summary: Focused primarily in Construction and Manufacturing sectors, the Workforce Program Manager (WPM) will research prevailing workforce needs utilizing labor market data and industry outreach, then collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to design, deliver, and manage strategic workforce training. The WPM will identify subject matter experts; hire and supervise trainers for short-term courses; set training expectations; coordinate training logistics; evaluate trainer and course efficacy; manage project budgets, procurement, and programmatic reporting. To support workforce training efforts, the WPM will develop and maintain positive and transparent relationships with internal (students, trainers, other PRCC departments) and external (government, industry, workforce system partners, etc.) stakeholders is critical to successful job performance.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise trainers for short-term workforce (non-credit, occupation-specific) courses.
  • Set and communicate training objectives and expectations for trainers and students.
  • Schedule workforce courses (open-to-the-public and company training) and manage related processes (promotion, applications, and enrollment processes, etc.)
  • Manage project budgets, procurement, and programmatic reporting. 
  • Develops relationships with external workforce development entities and industry relationships to address current and emerging workforce training needs within the college’s service area.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and policies as they pertain to workforce education and funding.
  • Establishes and maintains liaison with public and private agencies related to workforce and economic development.
  • Represents PRCC Workforce Education department through consultative meetings, presentations, and other coordination with workforce system partners.
  • Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational activities and goals.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred with major course work in public administration, business administration or management, economic development or community services, or a related field. Associate degree plus extraordinary related experience may be considered.
  • Three or more years of experience in project management (inclusive of any project management activities and not limited to formalize delivery in full-time project management role)
  • Five or more years of work experience in business, or industries related to PRCC Workforce Training (healthcare, manufacturing, logistics) or education.
  • Preferred work experience includes areas such as budget management, human resources, strategic planning, customer relations, operations management, program planning and development.
  • Collaborative work style and ability to work cooperatively with other divisions within the College.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Some physical activity may be required for the provision of regular duties. Must be able to regularly lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel off-campus.

Position Summary: This Industrial Business Developer (IBD) will lead efforts to identify, develop, and grow new business on a local and regional level. The IBD will establish and execute strategies to develop relationships and workforce services for local companies. Manages the promotion and delivery of PRCC workforce training for manufacturing/energy/industrial companies and those designated as Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MMA-MEP) services. Frequently used tools will include active networking, collaboration with the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) network, consultative client discussions, targeted event delivery and labor market research. This position will be accountable for the number of industrial companies served in the PRCC district and the volume of related training provided.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and maintains relationships within the industrial (manufacturing, logistics, construction, and energy) sectors throughout the PRCC six-county district.
  • Promotes workforce training and development services, balancing client demand and system resources. Work with local economic developers to identify prospects and referrals based on labor market analysis and forecasted business needs.
  • Works closely with client companies’ talent acquisition, human resources, learning & development, and operations departments to explore strategic business needs and identify related subject matter expertise through college and external/contract resources.
  • Locates, coordinates, and manages resources for training delivery including trainers, curriculum, equipment, and locations.
  • Identifies and connects with subject matter experts (SMEs) in a diverse array of technical and strategic development competencies for the development and delivery of workforce training.
  • Collaborates closely with workforce project managers, and related supportive programs including WIOA, Career Step, WIOA Youth, Work-Based Learning, and the Mississippi Apprenticeship Program.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable college, local, state, and federal policies related to workforce education and funding. Monitors performance standards, and fiscal and programmatic compliance for training.
  • Pursues strategic workforce training objectives as defined by Accelerate MS.
  • Coordinates with local economic development and industry associations to plan and execute events in support of business development goals including but not limited to local industry luncheons, lunch-n-learns, information sessions, open houses, industry Q & A, facility tours, and special events.
  • Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational activities and goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required with major course work in public administration, business administration or management, human resources, economic development or community services, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Applicants should have 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing industry. Knowledge of multiple production sectors preferred (ex: consumer goods, lumber, etc.).
  • Position will be closely involved with significant economic development projects. Direct operational, workforce planning, and/or human resources experiences with large-scale production facility expansion(s) or start-up project(s) are preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include, but are not limited to, experience with budgets, program planning, and development; working knowledge of business needs related to expansion and start-up projects (talent acquisition, staffing plans, compensation, change management, resource navigation, and onboarding); collaborative history with workforce system partners including local, state, and federal workforce resource and training entities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other divisions within the College.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks, meet deadlines, and ability to learn and interpret policies and procedures.

Job Overview: Pearl River Community College is seeking a highly skilled individual for the position of instructor of the Industrial Electronics Technology program with the goal of preparing students for a variety of entry-level positions in the manufacturing and/or industrial work environment. This program is designed to prepare graduates for a career in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of industrial electrical and electronic equipment and systems. This program introduces the fundamentals of electricity, electronics, digital techniques, electrical power distribution, motor controls, fluid systems controls, programmable logic controllers, and instrumentation.

Location:  Forrest County Campus

Job Description/Overview:  The Surgical Technology Program is seeking to hire a full-time instructor.   Responsibilities may include didactic and laboratory instruction in addition to clinical supervision, instruction and direction and guidance of clinical students.   Instructor will be responsible for clinical communication and documentation as required by ARC/STSA standards.

Status:  Part Time (Adjunct)

Educational Requirements/Work Experience: 

Faculty with instructional responsibilities in core surgical technology courses must:

1) Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.

2) Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

  • Current CST or CSFA certification is the only certification meeting the requirements

3) Have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.

Recommended level of education for the Core Instructor is a baccalaureate degree or higher. Minimum of AAS Degree is preferred, but ST Certificate will be considered with plan to complete an AAS Degree.

Qualifications:  Faculty/instructional staff must be effective in teaching and knowledgeable in subject matter as documented by appropriate professional credential(s)/certification(s), education, and experience in the designated content area.

Job Description/Overview: This position requires individuals to have a desire to teach students to become registered nurses. The role includes an understanding of the inner functions of a nursing program as they relate to admissions, curricula, practice arenas, evaluations, and outcomes. The individual must have a thorough understanding of the use of technology as a supplemental instructional tool, express an aspiration toward life-long learning, and have an awareness of working as a member of a departmental team. The position requires the instruction of classroom and clinical content, the possession of effective leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Status: Full-Time (9 months; Salary dependent upon practice and/or instructional experience)

Educational/Experience Requirements: Qualified applicants must hold a graduate degree with a major in nursing (concentration in nursing education preferred) from a regionally accredited institution, hold an unencumbered Mississippi RN license, have a minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (preferably medical/surgical, women’s health, pediatric, and/or mental health experience), and satisfy a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of three (3) years of formal (nursing) instructional experience (preferably in an ADN or higher degree program) and hold certification as a nurse educator or a willingness to seek certification within three (3) years of employment.
