The Development Foundation & Alumni Services Office raises private donations to support Pearl River Community College and its students. Those gifts help provide scholarships, fund campus projects, support faculty and staff, strengthen academic programs, and keep alumni connected to PRCC.
The service most students know us for is Foundation Scholarships.
Foundation Scholarships are available through your RiverGuide account. Once you submit your application, it will disappear from your list of available applications—that simply means your application has been received.
Foundation Scholarships are very competitive. Each year, we award approximately 300 scholarships, but we receive more than 2,000 applications.
One of the things that makes Foundation Scholarships unique is that they are funded by generous alumni, businesses, organizations, and friends of PRCC. Because of that, each donor establishes the criteria for their scholarship. Some scholarships are based on your major, hometown, career interests, financial need, academic achievement, or other qualifications that are important to the donor.
Our advice is simple: Always apply! It’s completely free, takes just a little time, and you may be the only student who meets the qualifications for a particular scholarship. Every dollar you receive can help cover tuition, books, fees, or other college expenses. You do need to submit a new and updated application each year that you are a student at PRCC.
When should students contact our office?
We’re here to help if you:
- Have questions about Foundation Scholarships or Foundation support.
- Need assistance completing your Foundation Scholarship application.
- Have questions after being selected for a Foundation Scholarship.
- Need information about the required Scholarship Luncheon.
- Want to know what to expect when meeting the donor who made your scholarship possible.
One of the most meaningful parts of receiving a Foundation Scholarship is having the opportunity to personally thank and meet the individual or organization that invested in your education.

What can eLearning do for you?
The eLearning Team is available to help you navigate the world of online learning. Whether you are taking a hybrid course, online course, or your on-campus instructor is using Canvas, your instructor is available to assist you with their course, but if you need additional assistance eLearning is available to help.
If you need a quiet place to study by yourself, study with a group, or participate in a club meeting, eLearning has a space for you. You can check out (either in-person or online) one of our collaboration rooms (with occupancy of 4, 6, and 24 people) that are available for you to use. Students can reserve a space through the Wildcat Academy in RiverGuide.
If you are taking an online class, you will take your proctored exam in the eLearning office’s testing center. You will only bring a government-issued or student photo ID to the testing center. We are located in the back of the Garvin H. Johnston Library building. If you need assistance from eLearning, please email us at elearning@prcc.edu.
