The Forrest County Campus (FCC) of Pearl River Community College is planning their first Costumes for a Cause 5K/1 Mile Fun Run for November 5, 2022.
The money raised through this project will go toward establishing a scholarship for those who have been through the foster care system. The scholarship will help break down some financial barriers keeping students from continuing their education.
“Costumes for a Cause will be our first 5K run on the Forrest County Campus, and we are so excited,” said Coordinator of Wellness and Student Activities, Zac Bennett. “We have many students who will be volunteering their time to work the event and run the race. It is not only for a great cause, but it is bringing the community together. I cannot wait to see what creative costumes show up!”
The community-centered run will be located on Pearl River Community College’s Forrest County Campus with participants encouraged to wear costumes. There will be a prize for the best participant costume, as well as the race winners with the fastest time in their age group, and an overall winner.
Check-in and on-site registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. with the 5K race starting at 7:30 a.m. outside the Dr. Cecil Burt Special Events Room (Building 5.)
