Annual band clinic set for Feb. 17-18

POPLARVILLE – The Pearl River Community College band clinic will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17 and 18, on the Poplarville campus.Approximately 200 musicians from 15 junior and senior high schools will be divided into two bands under the direction of Hardy Adams of South Jones High School and Ben Burge of Northwest Rankin High Schools.The PRCC Symphonic Band will perform at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, and the Jazz Cats at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, in Olivia Bender Cafeteria.The clinic bands will be presented in concert at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, also in the cafeteria. The public is invited.The clinic began in the 1950s as the Lumberton Band Clinic and is the oldest annual clinic in the state. It has been held at PRCC since 1991.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
