The Pearl River Community College student body elected the Homecoming Court for 2023, with their official presentation occurring before the Pearl River versus Southwest football game on Oct. 26, 2023. They rode to Dobie Holden Stadium in the Homecoming Parade from the nursing building and ended at Old Stadium Drive in time for Wildcat Walk at 5:30 p.m. The official court presentation on the field happened at 6:30 p.m.
QUEEN
The 2023 Homecoming Queen is KyLee Fantroy-Copper. She is the daughter of Jamie Fantroy of Inglewood, CA and Morrise Cooper of Cleveland, OH.
She is a graduate of Forrest County High School where she served as a member of the National Technical Honor Society, Health Occupations Students of America, BETA, and FCCIA. She was a Freshman Maid on the 2022 Homecoming Court.
Fantroy-Cooper is currently studying nursing and plans to transfer to Southern University in New Orleans to continue her education for a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was escorted by her father, Morris Cooper.
Freshman Maids
This year’s Freshman Maids are Sara Bonds of Picayune, Ashlynn Marie Goss of Picayune, Abigail Long of Kiln, and Summer Powers of Sumrall
Bonds is the daughter of Allison Bonds and the late Stephon Huderson and represented the Poplarville Campus. She is a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School where she was a member of NJROT, the basketball team, and the track team.
She is currently pursuing a degree in Sports Medicine and is a leader with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Bonds was escorted by Trael Hinton.
Goss is the daughter of Chad and Lisa Goss and represented the Poplarville Campus. A graduate of Ignite Christian Academy, Gross was a member of the National Honors Society and participated in Mississippi Baptist Bible Drills for 10 years. She is a member of Union Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Youth Leadership Team and is currently the Assistant Vacation Bible School Director and Children’s Bible Drill Director.
She is pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene with the plan to work as a dental hygienist after graduation. Goss is an active member of the Baptist Student Union. Her escort at Homecoming was her father, Chad Goss.
Long is the daughter of Edward Ford of Gulfport and Jasmine Long of Tampa, FL. She represented the Hancock County Campus. She is a graduate of Gulfport High School where she participated in the robotics program.
She is pursuing a degree in education. After PRCC, she plans to marry, have a large family, and pursue a higher education. She was escorted by her fiancé, Daniel Gilberson.
Powers is the daughter of Donald Powers of Sumrall and Flora Powers of Columbia and represented the Forrest County Campus. She is a graduate of Sumrall High School.
While at Pearl River, Powers is pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene. She is in the Dr. William Lewis Honors Institute, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and serves as secretary of the Student Government Association. After graduation, she plans to work as a dental hygienist and a real estate investor. She was escorted by her father, Donald Powers.
Sophmore Maids
Sophomore Maids for 2023 are Alyssa Nicole Fleming of Carriere, Anna Claire Johnson of Foxworth, Breanna Parham of Diamondhead, and Sydney Thornton of Sumrall.
Fleming is the daughter of Gregory and Raquel Fleming and represented the Poplarville Campus. She graduated from pearl River Cental High School where she was a member of the soccer team, HOSA, NTHS, NHS, Beta Club, and Mu Alpha Theta.
At PRCC, Fleming is working toward a degree in nursing. She is a former member of the Pearl River Women’s Soccer Team and a urrent member of the Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. After PRCC, she plans to work in the field of Pediatric Nursing while attending the University of Southern Mississippi to become a nurse practitioner. She was escorted by her father, Gregory Fleming.
Representing the Forrest County Campus, Johnson is the daughter of Mike and Brandie Pickering and Ricky Rowell. She is a graduate of new Hope Community Christian School where she was a member of the archery team and participated in Vacation Bible School activities at Hurricane Creek Baptist Church.
Johnson is currently in the Radiology Technology program were she passed a 72 hour Emergency Medical Responder course. She also serves as a First Responder with Southwest Marion Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoys duck hunting and fishing with her husband.
She plans to find a job as an ultrasound technician, expand her homestead, an continue to enjoy living life with her husband. She was escorted by her husband, Brycen Johnson.
Parham represented the Hancock County Campus and is the daughter of Leonard and Melissa Kemper. She is a graduate of Hancock High SChool where she was a member of the volleyball team and track team. She is a member of Living the World International Church. She enjoys shopping and spending time with her family.
She is currently working toward a degree in nursing and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She plans to transfer to Mississippi University to continue her education and receive a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was escorted by her father, Leonard Kemper II.
Thornton is the daughter of Mary Young, Linda Miller, and Terry Street. She represented the Poplarville Campus. A graduate of Sumrall High School, she was a member of the Spirit of Sumrall Band, Honors Society, and Beta Club.
She is pursuing a degree in nursing with plans to transfer to the University of Southern Mississippi to continue her education and receive a bachelor’s degree in nursing. At PRCC, she is a member of the Dr. William Lewis Honors Institute, Phi Theta Kappa, the Student Activity Board, the Spirit of the River Band, and Jazz Cats. She was escorted by her brother, Caleb Thornton.
