Alumni Spotlight: Said Otwane

All Locations – Said Otwane, PRCC Alumni, was gracious enough to join us for a quick interview about his transfer to Columbia University and offer advice to current and future Wildcats that have aspirations to follow a path similar to his.

Said attended PRCC from 2016-2018. Both of his siblings and his mother also attended PRCC, making them a true Wildcat Family!

He was also heavily involved on campus including taking on the responsibility as President of his Phi Theta Kappa chapter. He was the recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship allowing him to transfer on to Columbia to continue his studies. Said commented that several PRCC employees impacted his education including, Dr. Ryan Ruckel, Dr. Terri Ruckel, Dr. Donohue, and all of the administrators. He said they were a source of inspiration and guidance. He attributes his successes largely to the support he received at PRCC.

“I am able to pursue my dreams thanks to PRCC,” said Said.

Said encourages current and future Wildcats to be involved and try new things because you never know what doors will open. He also hopes that students will resist the urge to turn away opportunities due to fear of failure and firmly believes that you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
