ADA conference set for Jan. 20-21

  POPLARVILLE – The public is invited to attend an ADA Compliance conference to be hosted by the Pearl River Community College Honors Institute.
  Presentations by Michael Paravagna, ADA consultant and trainer with Paravagna Access Consulting and Training, will be open to the public on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
  His program, entitled Making Connections … Ensuring Compliance within the Workplace, will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Brownstone Center for the Arts. Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m. with the first presentation, Disability Awareness and Etiquette, at 9 a.m. Following a break, he will discuss How the ADA Affects your Business at 10:15 a.m.
  The confernce is funded by a grant from the Lower Pearl River Valley Foundation and is free to participants.
  He will present several sessions on the Americans with Disabilities Act and education on Tuesday for PRCC employees and will take part in a roundtable discussion with Honors Institute students on Wednesday afternoon.
  Paravagna  has worked in the disability field since 1975 in both governmental and educational entities. He has served on numerous boards and commissions in California and has conducted training for the World Institute on Disability and the National Association of ADA Coordinators. He is from Rocklin, Calif.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
