The TABE test is used for Cosmetology, Barbering, and EMT. You must be admitted to PRCC to take the TABE test at PRCC.
There are three sections to the test: Reading, Mathematics Computation, and Applied Mathematics. Test results are available immediately upon completion of testing. All examinees MUST present a valid photo ID in order to take the test. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The following are not allowed in the testing area:

Testing Center Policies apply to all TABE testers.

TABE tests are free of charge.
We accept same-day appointments for TABE, depending on test center closing times.

The TABE test should be taken only once per semester. However, a second test may be allowed at the instructor’s discretion, provided it is no more than twice within a semester, and there is a 4-week (month) span between tests.  During this 4-week waiting period, a student should seek remediation in English and/or Mathematics to improve his/her score.  It is the student’s responsibility to seek remediation, NOT Pearl River Community College’s.

The tester must receive permission to retest from their instructor or the Dean of Career and Technical Education.  The proctor must be notified by email (proctor.poplarville@prcc.edu) if the retake is approved.
