How To Apply
Dear Prospective Student:
We are pleased that you have shown interest in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at PRCC. Please carefully read the admission requirements below before beginning the application process. Any specific questions can be directed to the Administrative Assistant via email (preferred) or phone. Applications are due by May 1st of each year.
Admission Requirements for Fall 2024 (Any applications submitted after May 1 of the respective year will NOT be considered)
Students applying to the DMS program at PRCC must hold a bachelor’s degree of any type OR a two-year allied health program that includes direct patient care. This includes but is not limited to Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapy Assistant. Completion of any two-year allied health programs not listed are subject to review by the DMS Program Director.
- American College Test (ACT) Scores-18 Minimum composite score documentation must be provided by the applicant. It is the applicant’s responsibility to complete the PRCC form to have a copy ACT score recorded in the college system or you may attach it to your application. (You will see the option to do so)
All College transcripts must be sent to PRCC admissions office by an e-script method. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure that the Admission’s Office has received the transcript in order for it to be added to the DMS Program application.
The following documents are required to be attached to the DMS application in order to submit –
- Handwritten autobiography (no more than 2 pages)
- Resume
- Proof of color-blind assessment with updated vision exam
At least 3 but no more than 5 letters of recommendation will need to be sent to the email address below and must come from the author.

PRCC Diagnostic Medical Sonography Application
Upon receipt of the application and all required documents, qualified applicants will be contacted to schedule clinical area observations (at least four hours) and an interview by the PRCC DMS Selection Committee.
