Computed Tomography
This course is designed to explore the technical principles of Computed Tomography (CT). A review of patient care, contrast media and adverse reactions, common CT procedures and protocols, image characteristics, and image quality control methods are taught.
Sectional Anatomy
This course is designed to study human sectional anatomy including location, structure, and function, as well as relationships among structures. Radiographs, Computed Tomography (CT) images, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound and PET images may be used to demonstrate the characteristic appearance of anatomic structures. Three lecture hours per week.
CT Clinical I
This course includes clinical practice and instruction in a clinical affiliate and is designed to assist the technologist meet the minimum requirements to qualify to take the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Computed Tomography Registry exam. Areas included are patient care and management, radiation protection, operation of equipment, and Computed Tomography procedures.
CT Clinical II
This course includes clinical practice and instruction in a clinical affiliate and is designed to assist the technologist meet the minimum requirements to qualify to take the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Computed Tomography Registry exam. Areas included are patient care and management, radiation protection, operation of equipment, and Computed Tomography procedures. This is a continuation from CT Clinical I.

The mission of the Computed Tomography Advanced Certificate is to prepare competent, entry-level CT technologists who demonstrate clinical excellence, professionalism, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Certifications and Degrees
Students enrolled in the Computed Tomography Advanced Certificate Route will have the opportunity to earn a CT certificate and qualify for post-primary certification in Computed Tomography through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

What a student can expect from a career in this field:
Computed Tomography is an advanced imaging specialty that uses X-ray technology and computer processing to produce detailed cross-sectional images of the body. CT technologists are responsible for: • Performing diagnostic CT procedures • Ensuring patient safety and radiation protection • Administering contrast media when appropriate • Operating advanced imaging equipment • Collaborating with radiologists and healthcare teams CT technologists play a critical role in diagnosing trauma, cancer, vascular disease, and other medical conditions.
Goals of Program:
The goal of the Computed Tomography Advanced Certificate is to provide students with the knowledge and clinical experience necessary to perform CT procedures safely and effectively, and to prepare graduates for certification and employment in the medical imaging field.
