In the Welding and Cutting Technologies Associate degree program, students learn proper methods of welding and cutting with multiple processes currently used in the trade. Students will also learn and apply safety procedures as per industry standards.

Classroom knowledge
- Perform vertical & overhead (3G & 4G) limited thickness qualification tests on steel plate with SMAW process
- Perform fillet welds (3F & 4F) & open root v-groove (3G & 4G) on plain carbon steel with GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes
- 6G guided bend test on open root V-Groover pipe using the GTAW process and E-7018 electrodes
- Perform welding operations to prepare welded fabrications from sketches or drawings created by instructor
